There are many curiosities and complexities of work, both psychological and social. This is not a new phenomenon; work and its divisions are constantly being reinvented. The last generation's decline might be the next one's birth. Globalization and outsourcing may take away some jobs and wealth, but they create jobs and wealth for others, sometimes in areas such as in developing countries where these are much needed. The new elite of this century are knowledge workers, this sector will thrive in the future. Expectations about work have changed and will continue to do so. We will always need work.
