Two new Introductions have been published this month. Find out more:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy: A Very Short Introduction, by Freda McManus, focuses on cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT). It outlines the range of therapies that share a model of cognition and behaviour that are central in understanding and resolving psychological distress. It also provides an overview of what CBT is, how it developed, and what it is used for.  
     
  • Polygamy: A Very Short Introduction, by Sarah M. S. Pearsall, offers a broad global and temporal history of polygamy and its importance in a range of settings. This book illuminates the public importance of the intimate, considering issues of cultural contact and confrontation, the shape of empires, slavery and hierarchy, royal and aristocratic power, religion and conflict, war and expansion, race and nation.
