p. 625. Ministering spiritslocked

  • David Albert Jones

‘Ministering spirits’ relates the story of Archangel Raphael to the image of an angel. Why is the story of Raphael as told in the book of Tobit not in some Bibles? It finds a place in Roman Catholic, Greek, and Slavonic Bibles and in the appendix to some Protestant Bibles. Raphael also appears in Judaism and is known in Islam. Angels are frequently associated with new life and the end of life. There is a common view that when we die we become angels. However in orthodox Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, angels are not the souls of dead people, they are a different type of being.
