p. 1064. Sex, money, and power: some questions for Christian ethicslocked

  • D. Stephen Long

Abstract

Christian ethics helps us to live well, and through that make God's Name holy. It deals with everyday life, activities such as family life, sex, reproduction, economics, and power. It offers moral guidance on these matters. What is the purpose of sex? How should we feel about money and sharing? Should Christians have power, should they rule, and if so, how? Christian ethics is ultimately the pursuit of God's goodness by people ‘on the way’ to a city not built by human hands. It acknowledges that creatures cannot attain their true end without the gift of God's own goodness.
