Abstract

The Conclusion summarizes how we should view objectivity. Our understanding of objectivity must go beyond definitional questions. In many instances, the question of securing objectivity bears directly on what we want out of it and our ability to secure it can therefore go to the heart of what we understand by the term. The key aim must be to overcome prejudice or bias. We should not ignore the historical dimension to the question. Objectivity is a modern concern and to a large extent the result of modern universal educational systems. The most important thing to remember is that with objectivity one size does not fit all.
